Aloe Vera gel, or juice is the term given to the mucilaginous material found inside the leaves of the Aloe Vera plant, (Aloe Vera Barbadensis).  This is a totally different substance than what is known as Aloe USP in the pharmaceutical world.
With all the special requirements to produce a pure dried aloe powder, freeze-drying does not seem to be the best way to achieve a pure and stable aloe powder.

You manufacture and/or market products that contain Aloe Vera, and you also purchase the raw ingredient in concentrate, powder or single strength form.  Your formulations contain a level of Aloe that is efficacious so you can have a quality product.  But how can you be sure that the material you are purchasing is (a) pure and (b) effective?
Tamanu oil is an excellent example of a traditional remedy that has gained broader attention due to a combination of effective use in traditional settings and scientific research supporting its traditional uses.
