Tim Meadows and Lisa Bova from CAC had the opportunity recently to visit Port Vila, Vanuatu. During their trip they had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Joseph Jacobe, the owner of Tebakor Island Products, Ltd. Mr. Jacobe owns several agricultural companies, as well as the original Tamanu Tree manufacturing facilities.


While Hurricane Noel caused extensive damage across many regions of the Dominican Republic, CAC was very fortunate that our farms were not effected by flooding or Noel's other destructive forces.




Without public announcement or open debate, the local officials of Santo Domingo began a project to remove European and African trees introduced by conquistadores over 500 years ago. The attempt to replace the oldest and most valuable of these landmarks with native species has only succeeded in planting the seeds of resistance among the local population.


There are many uses for Aloe Vera which can be applied to several industries. Its trends and purpose has changed throughout the centuries. How is the perception of Aloe Vera viewed in the 21st Century?
